Piedmontese cuisine is loved by some and hated by others, but often it is the Piedmontese themselves who have not tasted some of the most important traditional dishes. This unconventional list aims to present some dishes that go off the rails of classic Piedmontese cuisine, but that manage to bring Savoy history and culture back to life. So here are the 10 typical things to eat in Turin and the places where you can enjoy them the most!


  • Truffle tajarin is a dish loved by many. Thin and finely cut, they are cooked just a few minutes and then sautéed in butter. A must try at Giù da Guido!
  • Bollito misto is one of the unforgettable dishes of Piedmontese cuisine. In Turin you can enjoy the various cuts of meat boiled for hours accompanied by vegetables and bagnetti and sauces. Don't miss the brodo ristretto with Barbera or grated cheese from Madama Piola, San Giors and Tre Galline.
